There is no simple definition of a family. If you look it up on Merriam-Webster dot com, there are several explanations. In a broad sense of the word, it can mean groups of individuals united by a common affiliation. What is commonly known as arena football, a sport that was invented and patented by Jim Foster in the early eighties, is a game filled with excitement that brings families together for the love of football entertainment.
Delving into their fourteenth season of arena football, Philadelphia Soul launched a mission to capture a fourth championship in the home opener game between the three-time ArenaBowl champions, and the newly formed expansion team, Atlantic City Blackjacks.
The first eight words in the mission statement of the AFL say “to serve our community with pride and passion…” which can be shown in the photographs taken by Brian Bailey, the owner of Get Shot By Brian. Pride and passion among the cheerleaders are captured during this photoshoot with the Philadelphia Soulmates. The very definition (or clarity) of the photos Brian took reveals the spirit he has for being the best at his craft. His work of providing high-end photography for his clients exposes the commitment he has for excellence – kind of like a champion who wins championships.
And let’s not ignore that great photo of #7, Darius Reynolds. Yes, it’s for the Philadelphia Soul team, but this could very well be part of Reynolds’ own family photo collection. Brian captured the passion Reynolds has for his work, having been influenced in life by his family; his mother, brother, and son. And, having a goal “to show his son the world and to always be there for his special moments” confirms his passion when it comes to what family means.
